Man Attacked By Masked Gang In Newtownabbey

Police in Newtownabbey have issued an appeal for witnesses following an attack on a man in the town on Monday, 02 April.

A 50-year-old man was attacked by a masked gang at a property at Braden Heights.

Detective Inspector Patrick Mullan said: "The 50 year old was inside a property at Braden Heights when its believed four unknown men forced their way inside and assaulted him with bats.

"It's understood the intruders then fled the area in a silver vehicle.

"The victim was treated for superficial injuries.

"We are working to establish a motive for this attack and are appealing for information. Officers can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference number 1222 02/04/18."

Investigation Launches After Masked Men Break Into House In East Belfast
The PSNI have launched an investigation after masked men broke into a house in east Belfast while a woman was inside. The incident occurred in the Manna Grove area at around 7pm on Wednesday, 17 January. Three masked men entered the property through a smashed back door and searched the house while the woman was upstairs.

Man Arrested In Connection With Sean Fox Murder Investigation
PSNI detectives investigating the murder of Sean Fox in west Belfast in 2022 have arrested a 40-year-old man. The man was arrested following searches in west Belfast this morning, 1 February. The suspect was arrested under the Terrorism Act, and has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Musgrave for questioning.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Two Men Attacked In 'Violent' Burglary In North Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a violent burglary in north Belfast. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant Young said: "We received a report shortly before 10pm on Thursday night, 23rd March that three masked men forced their way into a house in the Manor Close area.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.
