Police Investigating Two Separate Hammer Attacks
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a hammer attack on a teenager in Ballymena.
At about 3.30pm on Thursday, a boy was struck in the face with a hammer when he was attacked in the Galgorm Road area.
The boy is being treated in hospital. There is no report on his condition.
It is understood that two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident, but have since been released pending further enquiries.
According to a Belfast Live report, the attack in Ballymena follows a similar incident in Belfast on Tuesday, 10 April, during which a woman was struck in the face with a hammer by an intruder trying to force entry into her home.
Police have said that their investigations into both incidents are ongoing have have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an arson attack at a property in south Belfast. At approximately 10.20pm on Saturday, 13 April, police received a report of a fire at a house in the Kilburn Street area. Police attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.
