Five Burglaries In North Down Linked

Five burglaries across north Down this week are believed to be linked.

Three homes in Bangor, one in Holywood and one in Newtownards were targeted by burglars between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, police have said. The crimes have now been linked following the discovery of an abandoned black BMW car, which was seen fleeing the scene at one of the incidents.

A resident of Linen Crescent in Bangor awoke to find two men in his home at about 11.20pm on Wednesday night. When police attended the scene, they discovered that other properties in the same street had also been targeted.

Investigating the black BMW that they men had used to flee the scene, police discovered that it had been taken from outside a house in Newtownards earlier that night.

Another car, a black Volkswagen Eos, was then reported stolen from a house at Tudor Oaks in Holywood on Thursday morning.

Police have appealed to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity at any of the locations, or who has any information which could assist us with police enquiries to contact detectives in Bangor on 101 quoting reference number 1466 16/05/18.
