Man Dies After Being Hit By Train In Lurgan

A 19-year-old man has died after being hit by a train in Lurgan.

Police and emergency services attended the scene in the Bells Row area on Monday, 21 May.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police can confirm that the man has tragically died from his injuries.

"There are no further details."

Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

55-Year-Old Man Arrested Over 1976 Murder
A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Northern Ireland 36 years ago. William Palmer, 50, was shot at his home on Milltown Road in 1976. He died three days later in hospital from his injuries. The man was detained on suspicion of murder, possessing a firearm and membership of the IRA.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.
