Police Appeal For Information In Vehicle Arson Attacks

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a series of arson attacks on cars in the Benview area of north Belfast.

Posting to the PSNI North Belfast Facebook page, police said: "In the past week there have been 3 vehicles destroyed by fire in the Benview area of North Belfast.

"The victims of this crime are now without vehicles which they need to work or get to work.

"If anyone has ANY information about these crimes contact 101 quoting reference 1554 of the 24/5/2018 or alternatively ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Help us find those responsible and prevent any other people becoming victims."

Man Held Over Police Murder Bid In Belfast
A man has been arrested in County Fermanagh by detectives investigating the attempted murder of a police officer with an under-car bomb in east Belfast. The 38-year-old suspect was detained in Belleek on Wednesday morning, 11 September, by the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit. He was taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Smoke Warning As NIFRS Battle Belfast Blaze
Forty firefighters are tackling a fire at a commercial premises on the Woodvale Road in north Belfast. Three buildings have been gutted in the blaze that was first reported at around 05.30 on Thursday morning, 05 September. Police are at the scene and have warned motorists to be aware of poor visibility in the area due to the amount of smoke.

Police Vehicle Attacked In North Belfast
A police vehicle has been attacked in north Belfast. At around 11.20pm on Sunday, a device was thrown at a police Land Rover in the Twaddell Avenue area of the city. It did not explode. The PSNI have described the attack as a "cold, calculated attempt to kill police officers".

Officers injured as police vehicle is rammed at high speed
Two police officers have been slightly injured when their vehicle was rammed at high speed in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast. The incident occurred at Brompton Park in the Ardoyne area of North Belfast. A police spokesperson said that the police vehicle was rammed at high speed by a car shortly after 3:30 am on Wednesday morning.

Youth treated in hospital following bottle attack
Police are appealing for information after a teenager was attacked in north Belfast on Sunday. The 18-year-old was leaving a friend's house at Berwick Road in the Ardoyne area at around 6.15am when a gang of up to five men approached him and attacked him with a bottle.
