Police Appeal For Information In Vehicle Arson Attacks

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a series of arson attacks on cars in the Benview area of north Belfast.

Posting to the PSNI North Belfast Facebook page, police said: "In the past week there have been 3 vehicles destroyed by fire in the Benview area of North Belfast.

"The victims of this crime are now without vehicles which they need to work or get to work.

"If anyone has ANY information about these crimes contact 101 quoting reference 1554 of the 24/5/2018 or alternatively ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Help us find those responsible and prevent any other people becoming victims."

Police Vehicle Rammed By Stolen Car In North Belfast
A police vehicle has been rammed by a stolen car in north Belfast on Wednesday morning, 04 November. A number of men gained entry to a Mitsubishi Colt in the Marsden Gardens area. Police watched the stolen vehicle on the Cavehill Road. The car did not stop for the police and a PSNI vehicle was rammed, however no serious injuries were reported.

Police Appeal After House And Vehicle Damaged In North Belfast
Police are appealing for information after damage was caused to a house and vehicle in the Ballysillian area of north Belfast. Police received a report shortly after 11pm on Tuesday that a window had been smashed at a property and a van parked on Ballysillan Avenue was on fire.

Police Vehicle Attacked In North Belfast
A police vehicle has been attacked in north Belfast. At around 11.20pm on Sunday, a device was thrown at a police Land Rover in the Twaddell Avenue area of the city. It did not explode. The PSNI have described the attack as a "cold, calculated attempt to kill police officers".

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Stolen Car
The PSNI have reported that two men have been arrested in the Antrim Road area of north Belfast in connection with a report of a stolen vehicle. A blue Saab was reported stolen from the Tober Park area of Cullybackey on Thursday, 23rd February.

Three People Charged Over Six-Car Collision In North Belfast
Three people have been charged in connection with a six-car collision in north Belfast. The crash happened on the Crumlin Road on Tuesday, 03 July. Police had been pursuing a stolen car after it failed to stop and caused a six-car pile up. Five people and a child had to receive hospital treatment.
