KFC Staff Fight Off Armed Robbers

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information to an attempted armed robbery of a KFC restaurant in North Belfast.

Three men, one armed with a knife, tried to access the locked restaurant on Brougham Street at about 10.15pm on Saturday, 16 June.

When they couldn't gain entry to the restaurant, the men approached the drive-through window and threatened staff.

It is understood that two staff members at the restaurant fought with one of the men, before the three suspects fled on foot in the direction of North Queen Street.

One of the men is said to have been wearing a red cap with a yellow peak and black jacket. A second suspect is said to have been wearing a light blue-coloured top. A third suspect is described as wearing a black top with white shorts.

There were no reports of any injuries during the incident.

Police said that they are particularly keen to speak to a customer in the drive-through area at the time of the incident.

According to police, the same restaurant suffered a robbery on Wednesday, 13 June, also at the drive-through window.
