Convicted Killer Christopher Kerr Arrested After Going On The Run

A man serving a life sentence for the murder of a Catholic schoolboy 12 years ago has been arrested after absconding from custody.

32-year-old Christopher Kerr, who was convicted of murdering 15-year-old Michael McIlveen in Ballymena in 2006, absconded in Belfast City Centre while on accompanied temporary release on Thursday, 21 June.

The PSNI later confirmed he had been arrested in the Antrim area.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Prison Service said they would investigate the circumstances of the abscondment.

Massive Drugs Find After Disqualified Driver Stopped By Police
A large quantity of drugs has been seized by police in Lisburn after they stopped a disqualified driver on New Year's Eve. The discovery was made on Monday 31 December, the same day that officers in the city arrested two people after a gun and suspected Class A drugs were found during three searches in the area.
