Ongoing Delays Following Two Collisions In Belfast

Major traffic delays are ongoing on motorways into Belfast following two separate collisions.

At about 7.30am two cars were involved in a collision at Stockman's Lane. Police remain at the scene of the collision and there are long queues of traffic on the M1.

Separately, another collision at about 8.12am at Great George's Street has caused knock-on delays on the M2 and M3.

It is understood that the collision involved a lorry and has been cleared but there are ongoing traffic delays.

M1 Collision Causes Traffic Delays In Belfast
A crash on the M1, which occurred at about 8am this morning and closed two lanes, has now been cleared. The collision happened on the inside lane of the M1 between Stockmans Lane and Broadway. There have been no reports of any injuries. Two lanes of the motorway were closed and caused significant traffic delays across the city.

Co Down Road Closed Following Road Traffic Collision
Part of the Old Ballynahinch Road in County Down has been closed following a road traffic collision earlier this morning, Monday 14 August. It is understood the road is closed in both directions between the junction of Saintfield Road and Drennan Road. Motorists are advised to find an alternative route and ongoing delays are expected in the area.

Bus And Car Involved In Collision In East Belfast
Police are warning of ongoing traffic delays in east Belfast following a collision involving a bus and a car. The collision happened just before 1pm at Bridge End on the Newtownards Road. Police and paramedics are at the scene. There are no details yet of any injuries as a result of the collision.

High Bangor Road Opens Following Traffic Collision
The High Bangor Road at Donaghadee with its junction at Stock Bridge Road has reopened as of 9:25am following a one car traffic collision. One person has been injured but is not thought that their injuries are life threatening.

Fatal collision in County Fermanagh
One person has died following a road traffic collision at the Wattlebridge Road, Newtownbutler, in County Fermanagh. The incident happened just before 11.20am today, and is understood to have involved a car and a lorry. There are no further details at present.

Pensioner dies in road collision
A man in his 80s has died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast. It is understood a lorry was involved in the incident which occurred at around 8:45am this morning. Detectives have asked for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the event to contact them.

Tractor Death Is Fifth Road Tragedy
It has been another weekend of carnage on the roads across Ireland. As a local SDLP Councillor John Drake expressed his sympathy to the family of a man killed in a tractor accident on the Banbridge Road in Dromara, it has emerged that he was one of five people who died over the past few days.

Motorcyclist killed in road traffic collision
A motorcyclist has been killed following a road traffic collision in County Down this morning. The incident occurred at around 8am near the Millbrook Lodge Hotel on the main Newcastle to Ballynahinch Road. It is understood the motorcyclist collided with a car close to the Ballymaglave Road junction.

Two killed in road traffic collision
Two men have died following a road traffic collision in County Tyrone. They have been named as William Alexander North, 22 and William Crawford, 27, both from Cookstown. A car and a lorry were involved in the crash which occurred on the Dungannon Road in Cookstown just after 12.30pm yesterday afternoon.

Man dies in road traffic collision
One man has died, and a second was injured, following a road traffic collision in Co Down on Wednesday. Two cars were involved in the crash which occurred at the Forkhill Road roundabout in Newry late last night. Both men were taken to the nearby Daisy Hill Hospital, where one died a short time later.

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Enniskillen at the weekend. The victim, who has not yet been named, was in a car which collided with another vehicle at Mulligans Sweep - between the Newtownbutler Road and Lisnaskea Road - at around 12.30pm on Saturday. One man has been arrested for dangerous driving.

Man dies in road traffic collision
A 19-year-old man has died in hospital following a road traffic collision in Co Tyrone. The collision, involving a car and a lorry, occurred at Deverney Road just outside Omagh at around 9.30am on Wednesday. The car driver was taken to the Tyrone County Hospital, where he died several hours later.

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Tyrone on Tuesday. The 43-year-old victim, named as Martin Thomas O'Hagan from Greencastle, was initially injured during a collision between a van and car on the Greencastle Road at around 3pm. He later died in hospital.

An 18-year-old man has died following a road traffic collision in Co Tyrone at the weekend. The incident occurred on the Whitebridge Road near Sixmilecross at around 6pm on Sunday evening. It is believed that four vehicles were involved in the collision and a number of other people were injured.

Police in robbery and road collision appeal
Detectives at Musgrave Street are continuing to appeal for information following an armed robbery and road traffic collision at Finaghy crossroads on the outskirts of Belfast on Saturday morning. Police were called shortly before 10.30am after armed robbers targeted a cash delivery vehicle outside a supermarket on Finaghy Road South.
