Man Found Dead In Banbridge Named

A man found dead in Banbridge, Co Down, has been named as Richard Gerard Scullion.

A murder investigation has launched after his body was found at a house in the Millmount court area on Monday, 09 July.

A 28-year-old man arrested on Monday remains in police custody after the PSNI were granted an extension.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Alan Drennan, 21, was found dead just 24 hours after arriving in Ibiza. Man Arrested Over Murder Of Conor McKee
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Conor McKee. Mr McKee was found dead at his home in Glenpark Street in north Belfast on Thursday, 07 January. He had been shot a number of times. The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.

Man arrested in connection with 1981 murder
Detectives investigating the murder of a nine-year-old girl in Co Down nearly 25 years ago have today arrested a man on suspicion of her murder. Jennifer Cardy was discovered dead by two fishermen at McKee's Dam near Hillsborough in 1981 after being snatched as she cycled to a friend's house on 12 August that same year.

Police have arrested one person as part of a murder inquiry following the discovery of a man’s body in a house in south Belfast. The body of the 33-year-old man was discovered after emergency services were called to attend to a fire at the house on Camden Street.

Post mortem expected following Harryville body find
A post mortem examination is to be carried out on a man found dead in Co Antrim at the weekend. Scott McGowan's body was discovered at a flat in the Harryville area of Ballymena on Sunday. Police are investigating the possibility that Mr McGowan, who had been reported missing on Saturday, died of a drugs overdose.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Police have identified a man whose body was found at a construction site in east Belfast as 32-year-old Roy Alexander O'Reilly The man’s body was discovered just after 9am on Monday September 10 at East Bridge Street close to Central railway station in Belfast city centre.

Detectives have launched two separate murder investigations following the discovery of two bodies in Belfast. The first victim is believed to be father-of-five, Edward Burns, whose body was found at the O’Donovan Rossa GAA club on the Falls Road. He had been shot dead.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.

Derry police station sprayed with gunfire
Strand Road police station in Derry city centre has come under attack this morning from a gunman who sprayed the building with automatic gunfire. No one was injured in the attack but several vehicles were damaged. A lone gunman opened fire with what police believe was an assault rifle from the junction of Queen Street and Asylum Road.
