Man Arrested Over West Belfast Shooting
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.
A man, aged in his 30's, was shot in both legs in an alleyway near Westrock Gardens at around 10.30pm on Saturday, 04 August.
A 40-year-old man has been detained in police custody.
Police described the incident as a "brutal attack" and "yet another example of how criminal groups seek to control communities through fear and violence".

A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
