Hijacked Vehicle Involved In Collision In South Belfast

An investigation has been launched after a suspected hijacked car was involved in a collision in south Belfast.

Police have issued an appeal for information on a silver Volkswagen Bora, that was taken from a fast food delivery driver at about 11.45pm on Sunday 02 September in the Claremont Street area of the city.

The delivery driver reported the theft to police as two men sped off in the vehicle.

Approximately 10 minutes after the theft, the stolen vehicle collided with two parked cars on the Donegall Road.

Police are continuing to look for the stolen vehicle.

One of the two men has been described as "beefy" and was wearing a blue football top. The other is said to be of slim build and wearing a grey top.

Anyone who has seen the vehicle, or anyone with information about the incident, has been urged to contact police.

Three In Hospital After Police Vehicle Collides With Another Vehicle
Two police officers and a civilian remain in hospital following a collision in Newry on Saturday, 13 April. It is understood that the police officers were travelling in a police vehicle to attend a separate incident at about 7.30pm when they collided with another vehicle on the Fathom Road.

A silver Volkswagen, which had been reported stolen in the Castlereagh area in connection with a creeper style burglary on Wednesday morning, collided with the PSNI vehicle in the Cullingtree area just before 9.45pm on Wednesday, 15 February.
