NIFRS Recruitment Drive Announced

A recruitment drive for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has been launched searching for new Belfast cadets.

The recruitment scheme will operate one night a week with participants training as a real firefighter. The roles are open to all young people who have entered year 11 at school.

The NIFRS said that you "can't beat the excitement of being trained like a real firefighter" and invited interested cadets to attend a local fire station one evening a week, working alongside NIFRS volunteers in a fun but structured programme.

The NIFRS said: "This enables you to improve your self-confidence, learn problem solving and teamwork skills with the motivation to succeed where ever life takes you."

If you live in the Belfast area or go to school there, you are encouraged to pop down to the open evening at NIFRS's Learning and Development centre on the Boucher Road.

The event takes place on Friday, 05 October at 7pm.
