Man And Child In Hospital After Being Knocked Down In Belfast

A man and a child have been taken to hospital after being injured in a road traffic accident in Belfast on Sunday, 21 October.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) said the incident took place in the Kingsway area around 3.30pm.

"Two pedestrians were knocked down by a car, one an adult male and the other a child," a NIAS spokesperson said.

Two rapid response paramedics, two A&E crews and a doctor attended the scene.

They are both being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

More Work Needed To Tackle Child Poverty
According to recent research more needs to be done to get children in Northern Ireland out of Poverty, with the British Government being blamed for the elimination target slipping. The charity Barnardos has revealed that two areas in Northern Ireland have two of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK.

Belfast Man Handed Two-Year Stalking Protection Order
The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.
