Staff Tackle Robber At Belfast Restaurant

Staff working at a fast food outlet on Belfast's Ormeau Road successfully fought off a would-be robber in the early hours of Friday 07 December.

A man entered the premises at around 4am and approached the till area in an attempt to rob the business.

The employees managed to wrestle him out of the building and he left the scene empty handed.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to the incident.

The suspect was wearing a green khaki jacket and dark coloured jeans, along with a white motorcycle helmet with red stripes. He was carrying a black sports bag with a white stripe.

The members of staff were not injured during the incident but have been left badly shaken.

Detective Sergeant McCallum appealed to anyone who observed the male fleeing the scene or who has any relevant information to contact detectives at Musgrave station on the non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 166 of 07 December.

Ian Ogle Murder: Renewed Appeal For Information
Police have issued a renewed appeal for information on the "brutal murder" of 45-year-old Ian Ogle in Cluan Place in East Belfast on Sunday 27 January. The husband and father of two was attacked in Cluan Place just before 9.30pm on Sunday by a group of at least five men.

One Arrested Over 'Barbaric' East Belfast Murder
Detectives investigating the "vicious" and "barbaric" murder of Ian Ogle in east Belfast have arrested a 49-year-old man. The 45-year-old father-of-two is believed to have been stabbed to death after he was set upon by a gang at the entrance to Cluan Place between 9pm and 10pm on Sunday night, 27 January.

ATMs Stolen From Antrim Supermarket With Digger
Two ATMs have been stolen from an Asda store by thieves using a large digger. The machines at the Antrim supermarket were stolen in the early hours of Friday morning, 01 February. DUP MLA for south Antrim Pam Cameron expressed her shock at the incident. She said: "Horrified to see evidence of smash and grab of two ATMs at Asda this morning.
