Staff Tackle Robber At Belfast Restaurant

Staff working at a fast food outlet on Belfast's Ormeau Road successfully fought off a would-be robber in the early hours of Friday 07 December.

A man entered the premises at around 4am and approached the till area in an attempt to rob the business.

The employees managed to wrestle him out of the building and he left the scene empty handed.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to the incident.

The suspect was wearing a green khaki jacket and dark coloured jeans, along with a white motorcycle helmet with red stripes. He was carrying a black sports bag with a white stripe.

The members of staff were not injured during the incident but have been left badly shaken.

Detective Sergeant McCallum appealed to anyone who observed the male fleeing the scene or who has any relevant information to contact detectives at Musgrave station on the non-emergency line 101, quoting reference number 166 of 07 December.

Suspected Firearm Recovered During PSNI Operation In Ardmore
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) have recovered a suspected firearm in Ardmore in L'Derry. During a search in the Rushall Road area, the suspected firearm was located in the vicinity of a graveyard. Enquiries continue, and the suspected firearm will now be the subject of forensic testing.

Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In Rostrevor
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Rostrevor on Sunday, 31 March. At around 9pm, police received a report that man, aged in his 20s, had received serious head injuries after he fell to the ground following an altercation at a licensed premises in the Bridge Street area.

Appeal For Information On 'Nasty' Robbery In Omagh
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a "nasty" robbery in Omagh. Police received a report, that at around 1.30am on Monday, 19th February a man aged in his in his 40s was cycling in the Cranny Road area of the town, alongside the river, when he was set upon by a group of six people, dressed in dark clothing with hoods up.

PSNI Appeal For Information On Fatal Collision Outside Tandragee
The PSNI have named a man who died following a road traffic collision outside Tandragee, as 84-year-old Sidney McIldoon. Mr McIldoon, who was from Portadown, died following a collision between his vehicle and a tractor on Tuesday afternoon, 13th February on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn.
