Pedestrian Dies Following West Belfast Crash

A 48-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car in west Belfast.

The victim was involved in a collision with a red Toyota Aygo on the Andersonstown Road shortly after 4.40pm on Monday 10 December.

The incident happened near the Slievegallion Drive junction.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The road has since reopened.

SDLP Councillor for the area Tim Attwood offered his condolences to the victim's family.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the man who sadly died tonight in a road traffic collision in Andersonstown," the representative for Blackmountain said.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area around the time of the collision and who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the collision to contact local officers in west Belfast or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 910 of 10 December.

Two people have been injured following a collision in west Belfast. Two vehicles were involved in the crash which occurred in the Shaws Road area just after 6pm on Sunday, 13 December. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Man Killed In Co Antrim Road Collision Named
A man who died in a road collision in Co Antrim has been named as Kamil Gervenka. The crash occurred on the Portglenone Road in Randalstown at around 12.15am on Sunday, 23 October. It is believed he was originally from Slovakia and worked in the area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
