Woman Dies After Being Struck By Car

A woman in her 70's has been killed after she was struck by a car in County Down.

The pedestrian was walking at the Windmill Road junction with the Donaghadee Road in Bangor when she was hit shortly after 7pm on Saturday 26 January.

A Citroen C3 car is believed to have been involved in the collision.

Police rushed to the scene along with an ambulance crew but the woman died at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any dash cam footage is asked to contact them.

The road was closed for some time but has since reopened.

Serious Road Accident In L'Derry
Police are appealing for witnesses of a serious road accident in Maghera, Co L'Derry, on Sunday night. A man in his 20s is in a critical condition in hospital following the two car collision on the Coleraine Road. It is understood a number of people were injured in the collision but none of them seriously.
