Ice Warning Issued For Parts Of NI

An ice warning has been issued for parts of Northern Ireland after temperatures plummeted overnight.

The Met Office alert came into force at 5am on Tuesday 29 January and will last until 11am.

Showers from the Atlantic are expected to turn increasingly to snow, especially over high ground.

Sleet or snow is also likely on lower levels throughout Tuesday, with the possibility of travel disruption.

Weather warnings for ice and snow are also in place across the Republic of Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom.

The public are urged to take extra caution when driving and be aware of the risk of injury from falls on icy surfaces.
