Man Released In Ian Ogle Murder Probe

A man arrested as part of the investigation into Ian Ogle's murder has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The 38-year-old was arrested on Tuesday morning, 05 February, and was the twelfth person to be questioned by police in relation to the murder.

Mr Ogle, from east Belfast, was stabbed in the back 11 times and suffered a fractured skull after he was brutally attacked by a group of men on the night of Sunday 27 January.

The father-of-two was left to die at the entrance to Cluan Place, just yards from his home.

Police have been looking into the possibility of UVF involvement as one of their main lines of inquiry.

The arrested man was released without charge on Tuesday evening and police are yet to file any charges in the case.

Thousands lined the streets of east Belfast on Monday for the community worker's funeral.
