Pensioner Dies Weeks After Being Struck By Car

A pensioner has died weeks after she was run over while walking in County Down.

The woman in her 80's was struck by a car on the Bangor Road in Newtownards shortly before 4pm on Thursday 17 January.

It has since been confirmed that she died of her injuries.

Officers have issued a fresh appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any dash-came footage to get in touch by calling the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference 776 of 17/01/19.

A 22-year-old man has been killed in a road traffic accident in Belfast. The accident occurred on the King's Road in Knock area shortly before midnight on Monday October 28. Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Car In Moira
A woman who was hit by a car in Moira, County Down, last weekend, has died. She was struck by a white BMW X3 on Main Street at around 2.30pm on Saturday 6th September. She was in a critical condition in hospital, however she has since died. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Two motorcyclists have died in separate accidents on Northern Ireland’s roads in the last 24 hours. In Co Antrim, a man died when his motorcycle was in collision with a car on the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey, shortly before 7.40am.

Pensioner Victim Of Derry Hit And Run
A frail pensioner has been injured in a hit and run collision. The 80-year-old woman was walking along the Racecourse Road in Londonderry on Sunday morning when she was struck by a white car that failed to stop. Police say the woman was taken to hospital where she is being treated for a broken leg.

Man struck by car during Yorkgate robbery
Police in north Belfast are investigating an incident in which a 50-year-old man was hit by a getaway car during a robbery. Bags containing thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen from a bond delivery van in the Yorkgate area at around 2pm this afternoon. The man struck by the vehicle was taken to hospital.
