Man Released After Arrest In Ballymena Death Probe

Detectives investigating the death of a homeless man in County Antrim have released a man on bail.

It is understood a resident of the Simon Community's Mill House hostel in Ballymena was found dead on Sunday morning, 24 February.

Ambulance crews responded to a 999 call at around 6.20am, but the man died at the scene.

Police are yet to release his name or confirm the cause of death. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

A 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and robbery on Sunday evening after the discovery of the body, but was later released pending further enquiries.

Officers also closed off a nearby bridge on Sunday for a search of the area.

Man Released On Bail Following Rasharkin Death
A 36-year-old man arrested over the suspicious death of a man in Rasharkin, Co Antrim, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged in his 50s, was found on the Townhill Road on Sunday, 22 October. A post mortem examination is to be carried out to determine the cause of death.

Co Antrim Man Found Dead In Ibiza Sustained Head Injuries
A County Antrim man found dead in a hotel room in Ibiza sustained head injuries, according to Ireland's expert State Pathologist. Alan Drennan, 21, was found dead just 24 hours after arriving in Ibiza. Mr Drennan was detained by Spanish police when he arrived on the holiday island, and friends claim that he was attacked by the police.

Two Men Arrested Over Alleged Death Threats To Darren Kelly
Two men have been arrested over alleged death threats sent to Oldham manager Darren Kelly from Northern Ireland. Greater Manchester Police arrested a 27-year-old man and 42-year-old man on suspicion of making threats to kill. They are being detained by the police for questioning.
