NI Councils Combine To Support Budding Entrepreneurs
Councils across Northern Ireland are set to host open evenings, in partnership with the Go For It scheme, to advise and encourage potential new entrepreneurs to take steps to start their business.
The Go For It programme will be offered free of charge at locations in each council district as part of a country wide initiative to inspire budding entrepreneurs.
The information evenings will be held on Thursday 28 February between 6pm and 8pm, partly funded by Invest NI and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council's event will be run in partnership with the Ballymena Business Centre, Carrickfergus Enterprise and LEDCOM and will offer professional advice from business experts and a chance to hear the past success of former Go For It clients.
Mayor of the district, Councillor Lindsay Millar said: "Ballymena Business Centre Ltd, Carrickfergus Enterprise and LEDCOM have vast experience in helping budding entrepreneurs in the Mid and East Antrim Borough Council area turn their dreams of owning their own business into a reality.
"We would encourage anyone who has an idea for a business to come along and meet an experienced business advisor for a free, no-obligation opportunity to discuss how the Go For It Programme can really help their business idea take off."
The Go For It programme is delivered free of charge by a team of experienced business mentors through Northern Ireland's wide network of enterprise agencies. It combines expert advice with help to develop a robust business plan to turn ideas into a commercial enterprise.

Texam in Lisburn, a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of conveyor systems, has been assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to develop a business partnership in Germany. The Northern Ireland company used the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) at as part of a drive to grow sales abroad.

Two Mallusk entrepreneurs have set up the 5000th new business to be started through the Start a Business programme, which has generated an estimated 8,250 new jobs across Northern Ireland. Oliver McErlane took part on the programme with business partner Tim Swann, before setting up their electronic marketing company, TxtFlow.
