Ongoing Police Operation Targets East Belfast UVF

Six people have been arrested as part of what police have described as a "significant operation" targeting the east Belfast UVF.

Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out six raids in the Greater Belfast area this morning, Friday 22 March.

They said it was related to the "criminal activities of the east Belfast UVF".

Man Charged In East Belfast UVF Investigation
Detectives investigating the criminal activities of the east Belfast UVF have charged a man with a drug related offence. The 57 year-old will appear at Laganside Court on 12 December on the charge of possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Man Arrested In Paramilitary Crime Task Force Operation
A 28-year-old man has been arrested as part of a search and arrest operation in Ards and North Down on Thursday, 16 August. Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force today supported the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and conducted the operation last night as part of an ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF.
