Man Armed With Suspected Firearm Targets East Belfast Shop

An employee at a shop in east Belfast has been left badly shaken after being threatened with a suspected firearm in an armed robbery.

The incident occurred at Orangefield Place shortly after 5pm on Tuesday 23 April.

The masked man entered the premises armed with what is believed to have been a handgun, threatening the male member of staff. He then made off with cigarettes and cash.

Detectives are appealing for information.

Armed Burglar Threatens Man In East Belfast
An armed burglar has threatened a man at his home in east Belfast. The thief held a knife to the man's throat after he returned to his home in the Trillick Street area at around 9pm on Tuesday. The man disturbed the intruder as he was ransacking his house. He threatened him with a knife and fled from the scene. The man was not injured.

A teenager has been remanded in custody today charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl in west Belfast ten days ago. The victim was walking along the Blacks Road on August 6 when she was set upon by two people, one of whom raped her twice.

Police Appeal Following Armed Robbery In East Belfast
A man armed with a knife has robbed a shop in east Belfast. The incident occurred at premises on the Albertbridge Road at approximately 7.40am on Saturday morning. The man climbed over the counter and stole cigarettes and cash. He made off on foot in the direction of Glenmore Street. He is described as around 5' 10" tall of stocky build.
