Paramilitary Task Force Charge Men Over Drugs Offences

Detectives from the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force have charged two men with drugs offences.

It comes as part of an investigation into the activities of the south east Antrim UDA.

A 41-year-old man has been charged with possession of Class A and B drugs and is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates Court on Friday 24 May.

This charge relates to a search of a property in the Carrickfergus area in September 2017 when quantities of cocaine and cannabis were seized.

Meanwhile, a 43-year-old man has been charged following a search of a property in Larne in January of this year.

He is accused of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply after a quantity of cocaine was seized. He will appear in Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday 23 May.

The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.

Murder Investigation Launches After Man Found In West Belfast
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man found in west Belfast. On Wednesday, 06 March, a man was found with serious injuries in the Cupar Street area just before 8pm. The man was treated at the scene by emergency services before being transferred to hospital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
