Fourth Game Of Thrones Window Unveiled In Belfast

A fourth giant stained glass window has been unveiled in Belfast to celebrate the final season of Game of Thrones.

The new window, found outside the SSE Arena, is the newest of six to be unveiled across Belfast, as the final episodes of the show play out.

Each window will highlight a key house from the show, and will be large enough for fans to pose in front of.

This week's window is dedicated to House Targaryen.

Govt Must Do More To Support North West Development - SF

Sinn Féin have called on the UK government to do more to address regional imbalance in the north west.

This comes after a funding package of £105m was announced for the Derry City and Strabane City district.

Foyle MP Elisha McCallion said: "The British government have a responsibility to deliver a proper financial contribution towards developing the north west region. 

"We need more adequate funding to help unlock the region's economic potential as part of the strategic growth plan. 

"Since becoming MP, I have worked daily to ensure funding like that announced today can be achieved to help develop and transform this city region and this remains my priority.

"Sinn Féin has always believed that transforming this region and achieving an inclusive growth deal requires collective thinking and financial support from other partners including the EU and the Irish government.

"In the coming days and weeks I will continue to speak to both governments and work with local councils and key stakeholders to deliver upon the Strategic Growth Deal and secure additional financial assistance from both governments and the EU."

Management Committee Appointments Announced At Armagh Planetarium

Three members of Armagh Planetarium's Management Committee have been reappointed for a second term.

The Department for Communities announced the reappointment of Mr Stan Brown, Professor Louise Harra and Mr Patrick McGurgan as Members to the AOP Management Committee from 01 May 2019 to 30 April 2023.

They have been serving on the committee since 01 November 2014.

DoH Calls For Participants For New Obesity Strategic Framework

New Funding Announced To Promote NI's Quality Regional Food
A new funding programme has been announced to promote quality regional food from across Northern Ireland, Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Minister Andrew Muir has announced. The 2024/25 Northern Ireland Regional Food Programme (NIRFP) provides support of £170,000 to help raise the profile of quality regional food.

The Justice Minister has announced the allocation of £1.25 million for community investment programmes through the Assets Recovery Community Scheme (ARCS) The ARCS funding has been allocated to 43 projects and will be delivered over three years.

Significant Progress Made On £1bn Belfast Region City Deal
Belfast City Council has announced that significant progress has been made on the £1 billion Belfast Region City Deal. Planning has been approved for Newtownabbey's Factory of the Future sit at Global Point and the contract for pre-construction has been awarded for this key component of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre.
