Police Come Under Attack As Youths Run Riot In Belfast Cemetery

Officers responded to numerous reports of young people driving a stolen motorcycle dangerously in City Cemetery in the Ballymurphy area on Saturday evening, 11 May.

While recovering the vehicle, they were attacked by young people throwing bottles and masonry.

Police said members of the public had been walking in the area at the time and were put at significant risk by the violence.

An Evidence Gathering Truck was later deployed to record the actions of those involved and enquiries to identify the driver of the motorcycle are ongoing.

Parents living in the area with teenage children have been urged to ensure they always know where their children are and who they are with.
