Car Fire In Lurgan Ruled Deliberate

A vehicle that was found set alight in Lurgan this morning was ignited deliberately, according to the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS).

Police received reports of the blaze in the Orient Circle area at 1.35am on Monday 20 May. The grey Audi sustained significant damage.

Inspector Duncan McBain has appealed for anyone with information about this, or who was in the area and saw any suspicious activity to call police on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference 82 of 20/05/19.

Information can also be passed anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A security alert in Gortin in Omagh has been declared a "deliberate hoax" following a major policing operation. Late on Monday, 17 October, police received a report that a device had been left in the Gorticashel Road area. The PSNI launched a major security operation, evacuating a number of homes in the area.

Appeal After Co Down Home Targeted In Deliberate Attack
Police in Bangor are appealing for information after a property was deliberately attacked in Co Down. The front door of a house was set on fire in the Kearney Gardens area sometime between 9pm on Thursday 31 March and 1am on Friday 01 April. The male resident was not in the property at the time.

Loyalist Threat Against New Belfast Mayor
The new Lord Mayor of Belfast has told of how the police warned him that loyalists were planning to attack him at his home. Sinn Fein's John Finucane was elected Mayor on Tuesday evening, 21 May, and has revealed that the police came to his house and informed him of the threat later on that night.
