Appeal Over Spate Of Car Hijackings
Police are appealing for help from the public after a spate of hijackings across Northern Ireland on Saturday 01 June.
The incidents happened in the Newcastle, Lisburn, Carryduff and west Belfast areas, all in the space of an hour and a half.
Two men, aged 30 and 31, were arrested following the hijackings and have both since been released on police bail.
The offending stretched from Newcastle into Ballynahinch, along the Old Ballynahinch Road towards Lisburn, in the Temple roundabout area, Purdysburn Road towards Knockbracken, Boucher Road in Belfast and Beechmount Avenue.
Police say a lot of people have already been in touch, but are urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity, was driving in any of those areas and may have dashcam or mobile phone footage to contact them.
Business owners along the route are asked to check their CCTV footage also. Anyone with information can contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 818-010619 or if you wish to provide details anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man Arrested For Headbutting Female Police Officer
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Newry for assaulting a police officer. While responding to a domestic related report, a local female officer was headbutted to the head, which caused swelling and bruising. The officer was seen by medical staff and her injuries were not more serious and she felt well enough to remain on duty.

Man Arrested After Using Van To Attack Police Officers
The PSNI has condemned an incident in which a man used a van to repeatedly ram a police patrol car and attempted to run over an officer in Newry on Saturday, 03 February. Shortly after 11:20pm, officers on patrol approached a man standing beside a white Peugeot van in the Castlekeele Estate area.
