Suspended Sentence For Benefit Fraud Conviction

A man has been given a suspended sentence for claiming over £6,000 in benefits he was not entitled to.

61-year-old Sean Donnelly of Adair Gardens in Cookstown claimed Disability Living Allowance totalling £6,344 while failing to declare a change in circumstances.

Following conviction at Dungannon Crown Court on Thursday 20 June, he was given two months imprisonment suspended for twelve months.

The money has been repaid to the Department for Communities following an investigation which uncovered the fraud.
