Two Arrested Over Lisburn Murder

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Paul Smyth in Lisburn.

Mr Smyth, 50, was found dead in the living room of his house in Coulson Avenue at around 8.45pm on Friday 21 June. Police later confirmed he had been shot.

The two men, aged 29 and 32, remain in custody.

Police have renewed their appeal for information about the shooting. Anyone who knows anything that could potentially assist the investigation can get in touch by calling non-emergency line 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A 49-year-old man arrested earlier in the investigation was released unconditionally.

Two men, aged 28 and 32 and a woman aged 28 were released on bail pending further enquiries.

Two Men Arrested Over Lyra McKee Murder
Two more men has been arrested in connection with the murder of journalist Lyra McKee. Ms McKee was murdered during rioting in the Creggan Estate in L'Derry in April 2019. A 54-year-old man has been arrested in suspicion of murder in connection with the death of an elderly man on 30 June in County Tyrone. The 84-year-old man was found dead at an address in Blackwater Road, Dromore. Police investigating the death made two arrests on Tuesday.

Appeal Issued For Missing Man William Goodman
Ards and North Down Police have issued an appeal for help in tracing the whereabouts of 48-year-old William Goodman. William was last seen on the Northfield Road area of Donaghadee at around 12pm on Wednesday 8th September. He is described as being 5'10" in height, of slim build and with dark hair.
