Appeal As Man Struck By Passing Vehicle
Police are seeking a driver who struck a man with their vehicle as he checked a tyre at a roadside in County L'Derry.
The man was knocked unconscious during the incident on the Draperstown Road, Magherafelt on Friday 12 July.
He was left with spinal, tendon and ligament injuries and enquiries so far indicate that he was struck by a passing vehicle while stopped close to the bus stop and Duntibryan Road junction.
Police have appealed for information and are particularly keen to speak to a dark haired female who was driving a red BMW X5 or Volvo Jeep. Enquiries are ongoing, however, to narrow it down to the exact vehicle and driver.
Urging anyone who may have been involved to examine their conscience, an officer said: "If it was you and you're now in a panic about what to do, best thing is just drop us a PM and we'll make arrangements to get your account of what happened.
"Better for all involved if we are contacted voluntarily rather than us having to arrive at your front door some morning."
