'Pavements Are For People' Warns PSNI
The PSNI is warning motorists against obstructing pavements with their vehicles.
The notice comes after a stream of online complaints surrounding areas where the issue is particularly prevalent, including at Warren Park in Lisburn.
"Many of our residential streets and roads are becoming clogged, especially with inconsiderate parking," an officer wrote on Facebook after issuing a fixed penalty notice.
"If parking your vehicle, give a thought to pedestrians and other road users."
Northern Ireland Striker Kyle Lafferty Joins Norwegian Team
Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty is making a career move to play for a Norwegian team.
The 31-year-old will join Sarpsborg 08, a team currently placed at the bottom of the Norwegian top flight.
The team announced the news on Twitter, welcoming the former Rangers and hearts forward to their squad.
Nominations Open For Antrim Sports Awards
Nominations for this year's Antrim and Newtownabbey Sports Awards are now open.
Due to be held at the Theatre at The Mill on Thursday 14 November, this prestigious sporting event will celebrate success, commitment and dedication from some of the athletes and sports representatives within the borough.
Individuals are encouraged to nominate those who have excelled in their sport, whether it be a team or a single sports person, by 30 September 2019.
This year's categories include: Service to Sport, Adult Sportsperson of the Year, Jonathan Rea Award for Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year with a Disability and several others.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Alderman John Smyth commented: "Our Borough is home to a vast number of successful sporting superstars and it is important that they are recognised for their outstanding efforts and invaluable commitment. If you know an individual or a team in our Borough who has excelled in their sport, then make sure you nominate them before the deadline."

Over £400k Invested In Antrim Capital Sports Projects
Over £400,000 has been invested by Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in capital projects to develop local sports. Stemming from the Amateur and Grassroots Sporting Organisations Improvement Fund, grants of between £10,000 and £50,000 were available, covering up to 50% of capital project costs.

IFA secures deal with Sky TV
The Irish Football Association have sold the rights to broadcast live Northern Ireland football internationals from next year in a multi-million pound deal. BBC Northern Ireland currently holds the rights to the games, and has been in negotiations with the IFA.

George Best Statue Unveiled In Belfast
Yesterday a life size bronze statue of football legend George Best was unveiled in Belfast on what would have been his 73rd birthday, 22 May. Created by Belfast sculptor Tony Currie and funded by fans through public donations, it captures the iconic player's famed movement and balance as he dribbles with the ball.
