Pair Arrested Over Co Antrim Arson

Detectives investigating an arson attack in County Antrim have arrested two men.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service was called to the West Street area of Carrickfergus at around 11.30pm on Wednesday evening after a bin was placed against the door of a property and set on fire.

Fire crews managed to extinguished the blaze.

PSNI Inspector Patty said: "Two men, aged 24 and 27 have been arrested on suspicion of arson and are currently in custody.

"Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2179 of 04/09/19."

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

Two men have been jailed at Belfast Crown Court in connection with the "horrific and callous" murder of Roy Reynolds in County Antrim in 2022. Michael Campbell, 34, was handed a life sentence last December after pleading guilty to Mr Reynold's murder.

Four men have been sentenced in connection with a series of ATM thefts in the County Antrim area over four years ago. The investigation related to a number of ATM thefts between 27th October 2018 and 6th December 2019, including the theft of two cash machines at a supermarket on Castle Way in Antrim.

Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.
