Pair Arrested As Police Seize £30k Cannabis

Two people have been arrested after cannabis plants worth an estimated £30,000 were discovered in Maghera.

A planned search in the Drumconready Hill area of the Co L'Derry town on Tuesday 24 September uncovered the drugs.

Police subsequently arrested a 36-year-old man and 30-year-old woman on suspicion of a series of offences, including possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis.

Both suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

"Police are committed to reducing the harm these dangerous drugs and individuals pose to our community," Chief Inspector Mervyn Seffen said.

Members of the public with information about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area are urged to contact police on non-emergency line 101.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man Wanted In Lithuania Arrested In Magherafelt
The PSNI have arrested a 23-year-old man in Magherafelt wanted in Lithuania to face charges of human trafficking. The man was arrested by officers from the Police Service's local policing team in Magherafelt, with assistance from the International Policing Unit. He is expected appear before extradition court in Belfast later today.

15-Year-Old Arrested Following Stabbing In Lisburn
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old in the Knockmore Road area of Lisburn last night, Monday 25th March. Police have said that at approximately 7.40pm on Monday 25 March, a 14-year-old boy had been approached by a group of teenagers, before being stabbed in the lower back.

Two arrested following police raids
Two men have been arrested following police searches in north Belfast. Two handguns, ammunition, drugs worth an estimated street value of £27,000, documents and around £17,000 in cash, were seized during the raids, which are believed to be linked to organised crime in the city.
