Appeal After Armed Robbery At Belfast Shop

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a shop in north Belfast.

A business on the Cliftonville Road was targeted at around 7.25pm on Monday evening, 30 September.

Detectives have asked anyone with details that may assist their investigation to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1820 of 30/09/19.

Alternatively, details can be provided in confidence by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police Urge Drivers To Slow Down Following Spate Of Crashes

The PSNI is urging motorists to take their time on the roads after four separate collisions in the Cookstown area in just four hours this morning, Tuesday 01 October.

Emergency services including fire crews, the air ambulance, rapid response paramedics and ambulances attended the collisions along with police.

A spokesperson for PSNI Cookstown urged drivers to slow down following the string of incidents.

"Some involving lorrys, one with lorry and cars and others just cars," they said.

"Let's ease the foot off the right pedal and up the concentration, four in four is way too much."

Repairs Announced For Century-Old Dungannon Towers

The 100-year old Reservoir Towers in Dungannon are set to undergo a series of repairs.

Mid Ulster District Council will deliver the work on the Thomas Street structures, which mark the entrance to a path which leads to The Hill of The O'Neill.

To ensure the work can be carried out safely, the towers will be cordoned off and the pathway closed temporarily for six weeks.

The work is due to start in October but a date has yet to be announced.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.

Pedestrian killed on Westlink
A pedestrian was killed on the Westlink at around 1.30am on Thursday morning. The Westlink, which was closed for approximately six hours, has now been reopened. The man's name has not yet been released. Elsewhere, four people have been injured following a collision on the M1 which involved two lorries and a car.

Man Dies In Three Car Collision In Dundrum
Police have issued an appeal for information following a fatal collision in Dundrum, Co Down. A 49-year-old man died at the scene of a three-car collision on the Belfast Road at about 12:20am on Thursday. It is understood that four other people are being treated in hospital following the collision.

Four Arrested In Terrorism Probe
Four people have been arrested in Counties Armagh and Tyrone following an investigation into violent dissident republican activity. Two women, aged 31 and 23, and a 30-year-old man were detained on Thursday morning during searches at properties in Drumquin, Benburb and Armagh.
