One Arrest In Ongoing North Belfast Incident

An ongoing search operation in north Belfast has secured one arrest.

A 36-year-old man was detained in the Shore road area this afternoon, Tuesday 15 October.

He remains in custody on suspicion of robbery, aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

The suspect was detained as part of a wider search operation that is continuing in the area.

Funeral for dinghy tragedy teenager
A Coleraine teenager, who drowned off the coast of Castlerock, is to be buried today. Robert McMullan, 15, died when the dinghy he was in with a friend got into difficulties and capsized on Tuesday. He was airlifted to hospital, but died later. His friend managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm.

Firearm Seized As North Belfast Alert Ends
A suspected firearm and a quantity of ammunition has been seized following a security alert in north Belfast. The discovery of a suspicious object in the Lower Regent Street area sparked the operation on Tuesday afternoon, 29 October. The road was closed between the Trinity Street and Carrick Hill junctions for some time but has since reopened.

Man due in court over drugs seizure
A 46-year-old man is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court later today facing a number of drugs charges. The man is charged with possession of a Class C drug, possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply, and cultivation of a Class C drug.

Quantity Of Weapons Found During Search In North Belfast
Police have found a quantity of weapons during a search in north Belfast. Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out the search in the Antrim Road area on Monday, 04 December. An assault rifle, ammunition and other weapons were recovered. The items have been sent for forensic examination. No further details have been released.
