Appeal Launched As Man Walks Out Of Hospital

Police have appealed for public assistance after a man walked out of hospital in Craigavon.

Family and staff are growing increasingly concerned for the whereabouts of Gerald Graham, who left the Bluestone unit in Craigavon Hospital at around 3.35pm on Monday 14 October.

Mr Graham is around 5'8" tall, of stocky build and with short hair.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts or has seen him in the past day is urged to contact police on non-emergency line 101, quoting reference 1232 of 14/10/2019.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Appeal Over Missing Broughshane Man
Police have appealed to the public for help in tracing the whereabouts of a man from Broughshane, Ballymena, County Antrim. Geoffrey Adams, who is 53 years old, was last seen at Antrim Area Hospital on the afternoon of Sunday 8 February. Police have described him as 5' 9", very thin, bald with a grey beard, crooked teeth and a crooked nose.

Virus closes hospital beds across province
Hospitals in Northern Ireland are struggling to deal with the effects of a common virus which has left people waiting on trollies for beds and caused a severe backlog in surgery. The virus, which affects patients and staff, comes as hospitals throughout the province struggle to cope with an increased number of patients because of winter illnesses.

Hygiene Testing Failed For Five NI Hospitals
Eleven wards in total in five hospitals have required a further inspection into Hygiene and infection by the Regulation and Quality improvement Authority. The five hospitals involved were The Royal Victoria and City Hospital which are both located in Belfast. The Ulster in Dundonald, The Altnagelvin in Derry and the Craigavon Area Hospital.

Police Officer Resigns After Reducing Vulnerable Man To Tears
A police officer has resigned after he reduced a vulnerable man to tears with "insulting, spiteful and deliberately provocative language". The incident happened near Armagh city in March last year. The Police Ombudsman, Mrs Marie Anderson, commended three probationary police officers for raising concerns.
