Dalriada Urgent Care Relocates To Mid Ulster Hospital
The Dalriada Urgent Care GP Out of Hours Centre in Moneymore, Co L'Derry is to relocate to the Outpatients Department in the Mid Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt.
The service will begin operating from its new location on Monday 02 December.
Clinical Director at Dalriada Urgent Care Dr David Johnston said: "I am delighted that the service is relocating. The new premises are centrally located and will provide many advantages for our patients including improved accessibility."
The Dalriada Urgent Care Out of Hours GP service is for urgent conditions which cannot wait until your own doctor's surgery is open. A telephone call must be made to the Centre before attending. The number to call for urgent conditions that cannot wait until your own GP is open is 028 2566 3500.
The service is available from 6pm Monday to Friday, and 24 hours on weekends and bank holidays.
Work has been ongoing in the Mid Ulster Hospital to facilitate the relocation since the proposal was approved by the Health and Social Care Board. The decision to relocate followed a period of public consultation which resulted in overwhelming support for the move.
NI Water Launches New Community Led Initiative
NI Water has launched a new community led initiative to support a project at the LGBTQ+ Centre in Belfast.
The Little Ripples initiative gives NI Water staff the opportunity to pitch for their local charity or community group to receive volunteering support and funding.
Little Ripples, named because there's such thing as a small act of kindness, supported local charity Cara-Friend to redecorate the community room at the LGBTQ+ Centre.
The community room, hallway and toilets were in a state of disrepair and in order to make it a more attractive, warm and friendly space for groups and individuals, volunteers from NI Water decorated the space by painting, cleaning and replacing old kitchen items.
NI Water's CEO Sara Venning recently paid a visit to meet staff and see the difference this act of kindness made to Cara-Friend and the services they provide.
Roadworks To Take Place On North Antrim Coast
The coastal village of Ballintoy in Co Antrim is to be the subject of road resurfacing work next week.
Roadworks will begin on the Whitepark Road on Monday 25 November, running until Sunday 01 December.
The £232,000 scheme will see almost two kilometres resurfaced from the vicinity of Glenstaughey Road to approximately 200m before Scally's Road.
Daily road closures will be in place between 7.30am and 5.30pm throughout the works. During these times a diversion will be in place via the A2 Maghery Road - A2 Straid Road and vice versa.
Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to leave additional time when planning any journeys.
