Pair Due In Court Over Off-Licence Robbery

Two men are facing charges over an armed robbery at an off-licence in north Belfast.

A business in the Ballysillan Road area was targeted on Monday evening, 25 November.

A 25 year-old man has been charged with robbery, possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and two counts of possession of a class C controlled drug.

Meanwhile, a 20 year-old has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, robbery, and possession of class B and class C controlled drugs.

Both are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court today, Wednesday 27 November.

All charges will be reviewed by the PPS, as is normal procedure.

On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Executive Agrees Increase In Regional Rate For 2024/25
The Executive has agreed an increase in the regional rate for 2024/25, to rise is line with inflation. If substantially approved by the Assembly, the regional rate element of the bill would add 46p per week to the bill for a domestic property with an average capital value of £123,000 and £10.

Drugs, Firearm And Luxury Goods Seized In Bangor
The PSNI have deployed an armoured tactical vehicle, known as a BearCat, during a proactive search operation in Bangor. Officers from Bangor District Support Team, assisted by officers from specialist Operations Branch providing specialist access, conducted a search at a property in the Killaire Road area of the town on Wednesday, 13th March.
