Pair Arrested As £2,500 Worth Of Cannabis Seized
Two men aged in their twenties have been arrested after the discovery of suspected herbal cannabis worth £2,500 in north Belfast.
District Support officers stopped a vehicle in the Limestone Road area shortly before 12.30am on Thursday morning, 28 November.
A quantity of suspected herbal cannabis was seized with an estimated street value of around £2,500, along with a number of other items and a sum of money.
Both men, aged 23 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of possession of class B and possession with intent to supply. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "These arrests and seizures are further evidence of our ongoing commitment to removing and disrupting the illegal supply of drugs in the Belfast area. We know the misery drugs can cause to individuals, their families and the wider community."
The discovery has prompted police to appeal for information on drug dealing in local areas.
"We are committed to do all we can to remove harmful illegal drugs from the streets of Belfast," the spokesperson added.
"We would appeal to anyone who knows anything about illegal drugs or drug dealing in their area to contact police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
