Searches As ATM Thieves Chased Across Border
The PSNI is conducting searches after thieves travelling with an ATM stolen from Co Louth travelled across the border this morning.
The culprits were intercepted on Dunleer Main Street at around 4.30am this morning, Wednesday 15 January, by patrolling members of the Garda Armed Support unit.
Officers pursued the vehicle onto the N1 before the thieves made their way across the border.
Investigations are ongoing and the PSNI is assisting with searches. No injuries occurred during the incident.

Drivers from Northern Ireland may need to purchase a "green card" to allow them to travel to the Republic after Brexit, insurers have warned. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) said that cross-border drivers will need the card if they wish to drive in countries which are part of the European Union, in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
