Youths attack police in west Belfast

Police are appealing for information after officers were attack by around 100 youths in west Belfast yesterday evening.

The incident occurred in the Albert Street area of the Falls Road at around 6.30pm following reports of dangerous driving.

When officers arrived a gang of around 70 youths began throwing stones and other missiles at police.

Within an hour the situation had calmed slightly, however when police were alerted to another vehicle acting suspiciously in the area, the crowd, which had grown to a 100, began pelting police vehicles with bricks and stones.

The situation was again eventually calmed, however three police vehicles, including two Land Rovers, were extensively damaged during the attacks.

No officers were injured in either incident.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Three police officers injured in car ramming
Three police officers have been slightly injured after their car was rammed from behind by another vehicle early this morning. The incident occurred when police signalled a car to pull over on the Buncrana Road in Londonderry at around 3.20am.

Appeal Following Stabbing Incident In Downpatrick
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a stabbing incident in Downpatrick. Police received a report shortly after 6pm on Saturday, 17th February that a man had been stabbed on a pathway in the St Dympnas Avenue area of the town.

Police vehicle damaged by youths in stone attack
A police vehicle has been damaged after officers came under attack from stone throwing youths in Belfast on Tuesday evening. At around 8.50pm, two police vehicles came under heavy attack from stone throwers on the Springfield Road with the windscreen of one vehicle damaged.
