Sir Alex visits NI for website Fund launch
Manchester United manager, Alex Ferguson forgot his footballing troubles this week when he flew into Northern Ireland to celebrate the launch of the new Elizabeth Hardie Ferguson Charitable Trust Fund website.
Sir Alex is founder and trustee of the Fund, which provides financial support for activities that improve the quality of life for children - both their recreational activities and their well being.
The new website, designed and hosted by a Belfast-based firm, was officially launched by Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Commenting on the web site, Sir Alex said: "I express my sincere heartfelt thanks to B.I.C. Systems for undertaking this work on behalf of the Trust Fund and the youth of Northern Ireland.
"This new technology will allow people to keep up to date with the Trust Fund's charitable work throughout the Province and help chart the progress of the Trust Fund's success in assisting local Charities and worthy causes."
The Trust Fund, now in its fifth year, was set up in 1998 and is supported by Manchester United Supporters Club in Carryduff, Belfast and by other supporters clubs throughout the UK.
The fund was set up in honour of Sir Alex's late mother Elizabeth Hardie Ferguson.
