Four Men Arrested After Attempted Fraud At Banbridge Retail Park

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of a number of fraud offences.

The man, three aged 19 and one 22 year old, are understood to have attempted to use what police believe may be false financial details at a retail park in Banbridge yesterday, Tuesday 24 November.

It is understood that the men attempted a number of transactions in various stores but were refused each time. The four suspects then made off in a vehicle. A description of the car, a Vauxhall Astra, was obtained and a police ANPR Interceptor team was dispatched to assist local crews in locating it.

The car was stopped by the Interceptor team on Armagh Road, Newry.

Detectives from CID are questioning the four men on suspicion of a number of fraud offences.

Anyone who believes they may be able to assist the investigation is asked to call 101, quoting reference 1223 24/11/20.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.

Police Investigating Man's Death Following Ballynahinch Collision
The PSNI have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of an elderly man following a collision in Ballynahinch. It it understood that police were called at approximately 4.10pm on Monday 08 April, to reports of the "sudden death"of an elderly man at a quarry in the Newcastle Road area of Seaforde.

Police Release Statement On Easter Monday Events In Creggan
The PSNI have released a statement on the events which took place in Creggan on Easter Monday. Derry City & Strabane Area Commander Chief Superintendent Gillian Kearney said that "police received an 11/1 on Saturday 30th March in relation only to an event in the City Cemetery in Creggan" which would be taking place on 1 April.
