Man Fatally Stabbed In Bangor

A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in Bangor, County Down.

According to reports, police responded to an incident on Beatrice Street in the town shortly after midnight, Wednesday 14 July. Upon arrival at the scene a 53-year-old man was found with stab wounds. The man was attended by emergency services but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Police are working to establish what occurred at the incident and have appealed to anyone with any information, or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of this morning to contact them. Covid Mobile Testing Facility To Open In Larne
A mobile testing facility for Covid has been set up at Larne Leisure Centre from today, 07 September, after over 400 pupils were asked to stay at home following a number of cases at Larne High School. PSNI Chief Constable Simon Byrne will meet today today, Tuesday 31 August, with representatives of the local community in South Armagh to discuss the findings of a comprehensive report into policing in the local area.

Two Men Arrested In Connection With Co Armagh Stabbing
Two men, aged 50 and 51, have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Co Armagh. It is understood that the arrests following an incident at a house in Ballynahone Crescent just before 9pm on Wednesday 08 September. A man was found at the scene with stab wounds to his collar-bone.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
