Flooding Causes Disruption On NI Roads

Motorists travelling on roads across Northern Ireland have been urged to be cautious as flooding causes disruption across the region.

Last week's scorching weather has made way for thunderstorms and heavy showers, with hefty storms and flooding expected particularly throughout south-east Down.

A number of traffic warnings have been issued since with flooding affecting travel times. A55 Upper Knockbreda Road in Belfast is badly flooded at top Cregagh Road heading towards Forestside, while drivers on the A26 Ballymena bound face flooding on the carriageway.

Images posted by TrafficWatchNI also show a box van stuck in flood water on the A55 Milltown Road in South Belfast.

Further flooding has been reported in Belfast, with Malone Road citybound approaching Stranmillis Road Junction and Stockmans Lane under the Bridge - Musgrave Park Hospital both affected.

People travelling are asked to take extra care due to the conditions.
