Man In His 80s Robbed In Tyrone Car Collision
An elderly man has been left badly shaken after being assaulted and robbed during a car collision incident in Tyrone.
The incident happened at the Rehaghy Road area of Aughnacloy yesterday, Thursday 29 July, between 5.15pm and 5.30pm. A grey Peugeot was involved in a road traffic collision with a blue VW Golf in the area. As the driver got out of the Peugeot, he was assaulted by the driver of the blue VW Golf and took a sum of money from the Peugeot during the incident. The man driving the Peugeot, who was in his 80s, was not injured.
The driver of the VW Golf made off from the scene following the incident, with two other people believed to have been in the car.
Enquiries are continuing and police have appealed to the driver or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1450 29/07/21. Warning Issued After Thousands Lost To Gift Card Scam
The PSNI have issued a warning after a L'Derry resident lost thousands of pounds in a gift card scam. According to police, the person was contacted online and told that they had won money. They were told they needed to send online gift cards to verify themselves. This continued for some time before the scam was spotted and stopped.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.
