Breeze Block Dropped On Police Car From Block Of Flats

Police have issued an appeal for information after a breeze block was thrown from a high-rise flat on to the roof of a patrol car.

The "deliberate and reckless attack" occurred at Churchill House in the New Lodge shortly before 9pm on Tuesday 24 August.

It is understood that this is the second attack on a police patrol in north Belfast in the last three days.

PSNI Ch Insp Darren Fox is reported as stating that it was "extremely fortunate that none of the officers inside the vehicle were injured".

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact police.

Appeal Following Petrol Bomb Attack In Banbridge
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a petrol bomb attack in Banbridge, in the early hours of Tuesday 19th March. It was reported that at around 2.10am on Tuesday morning, two petrol bombs were thrown at the back wall of a house in the Castlewellan Road area, causing scorch damage to the wall and a window frame.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Arson Attack At Block Of Flats In North Belfast
Police are investigating an arson attack on a block of flats in north Belfast. A fire was deliberately started in the downstairs area of the building on the Cliftonville Avenue at approximately 11.30pm on Tuesday night. Police and fire crews attended the scene and no-one was reported to be injured.

TWO PENSIONERS ESCAPE INJURY IN PETROL BOMB ATTACK
TWO elderly Protestant sisters have escaped injury after a petrol bomb attack on their East Belfast home. The women, aged 73 and 79, escaped injury after a passing police patrol discovered a fire at their home and forced their way into the house in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
