Stormont Approves £200 Energy Costs Payment
Stormont has approved a one-off payment of £200 to help people with energy costs, as proposed by Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey.
Some 280,000 people across NI are expected to benefit from the scheme. To be eligible for the scheme people must have been in receipt of one or more types of means-tested benefits in December 2021.
It is understood that there will be application process for the scheme, with payments being made automatically to individuals.

Payments from the new £55m Energy Payment Support Scheme will start being paid from 10 March 2022, Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey has announced. This one-off payment of £200 will provide support for people struggling to meet rising energy costs due to the global fuel crisis.

A new £55 million Energy Payment Support Scheme for vulnerable people struggling to meet rising energy costs has been announced by Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey. A one-off payment of £200 will be made automatically to around 280,000 eligible people in receipt of specified benefits.

Omicron Hospitality Payment Scheme Extended
The Omicron Hospitality Payment scheme will be extended to include hotels and certain sports clubs, Finance Minister, Conor Murphy has announced. Under the scheme, following Executive agreement, hotels will be eligible for a one-off grant between £10,000 and £20,000 depending on their rateable value.
