Three Women Attacked In Armed Robbery In South Belfast

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an armed robbery at a salon in south Belfast.

Two men, armed with a knife and a baseball, entered the salon on the Lisburn Road at about 7:40pm on Sunday 20 February. A woman in the salon was reportedly assaulted by the man armed with the baseball bat, while the man with the knife demanded money from a second woman. It is understood that a third woman escaped the building through a first floor window.

There were no reports of any serious injuries, but all three women are said to have been left "badly shaken" by the incident.

The men fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed sum of money. They are said to have made off into the Sandy Row area.

The man with the knife was described as wearing a blue coat, grey trousers, navy trainers and a grey hat.

The man armed with the baseball bat is said to have been wearing a burgundy coat, a green hooded top, a grey hat and grey trousers.

Anyone with any information about the incident – especially any drivers in the area at the time who might have dashcam footage – is urged to contact police.
